Where You Can And Can’t Smoke Marijuana At The NYS Fair
Most of our local county fairs and carnivals have returned this summer. And this year, the New York State Fair is back along with all the others. I love spending a day walking around the fair, looking for that odd type of food to try. You know, something that is fried that you normally would not be able to get anywhere else. That's a part of the fun of the New York State Fair.
And here's something I never thought we'd hear coming from the New York State Fair. According to Syracuse.com, The New York State Fair will allow attendants to smoke some marijuana with limitations. Smoking marijuana will not be allowed at the seating areas of the Chevy Court or Chevy Park or any of the midways. Consumption will be limited to the designated smoking areas. And it will be illegal to buy or sell marijuana at the fair according to the article.
I'm not sure how I feel about that. I have no issue with whatever people smoke legally, but I wonder how it will play out at a family oriented event like the New York State Fair. Maybe it won't be a big deal. We will soon find out. The New York State Fair in Syracuse runs August 20th through September 6th.
Speaking of fairs and festivals, I'm glad to see the return of these great outdoor events. There are some really great shows to see at area venues like Bethel Woods Center For the Arts in Bethel, NY, Tags in Big Flats, NY and Lakeview Amphitheater in Syracuse. Hopefully you will get the chance to get out of the house and enjoy a concert or fair before the summer ends.
